Mammograms VS. Thermograms For Breast Health
Mammograms vs. Thermograms for breast health. Have you ever had a mammogram? Have you ever had a thermogram? If you are over the age of 40 and female I am sure you have had a mammogram. A mammogram is the GOLD STANDARD for the mainstream, medical community for detecting breast cancer. It entails a visit to the radiation department of your doctor’s office or hospital and you are led into a room where your breasts, one at a time, is squeezed between two metal plates and an x-ray is taken. The image is then read by a technician in another room. If anything suspicious is seen then more x-rays are taken and you are told that your doctor will call you with the results. Sometimes your doctor will request that you also have an ultrasound. If your tests are still unclear the next step is a needle biopsy or an operation to remove the lump called an lumpectomy. If it looks very concerning to the surgeon, the patient will be prepped before the operation that if the lump proves to be cancerous she can elect to have an mastectomy instead of just a lumpectomy. Can you image the STRESS this causes a women?!
(From http://www.thermographyonline.com/) Disclaimer: Thermography is utilized as an adjunctive imaging procedure only and, as such, is not a replacement for or alternative to any other form of imaging. Since thermography only detects heat at the surface of the body, the technology cannot see into the cranial vault, thoracic or pelvic cavities, or deep into the body to visualize organs or bones. All thermography reports are meant to identify thermal emissions that suggest potential risk markers only and do not in any way suggest a diagnosis or treatment. Since a diagnosis cannot be made from an infrared image, thermal markers must be correlated by the patient’s treating physician with additional testing and procedures before a final diagnosis can be made.
Years ago I went in for my routine mammogram. I hated the entire experience. First, my anxiety level goes up when I just make the appointment because I fear what they will find. Then the actually experience of having your delicate breast tissue squished between two cold, metal plates can be painful and damaging in my opinion. If a suspicious spot is found then you will have to go through a number of addition x-rays causing more STRESS. The last time I had a suspicious area by a mammogram technician I had to position my body in several awkward positions for many different images of my right breast to be taken. All I was thinking was:
- This is uncomfortable.
- I am scared.
- How much additional HARMFUL x-rays and I getting pointed directly at my breast?
- Do I have CANCER?!
After that whole mess, I was sent home after I was told a doctor would review my images. Great! Now I get to go home and worry if I have cancer or not. Terrifying!
The next day my doctor called me saying that they needed MORE breast images so I had to go back in a for more x-rays. Are you kidding me? I did and no definitive answer was given so I was sent to have an ultrasound. At the ultrasound the suspicious area was measured and to my horror the technician practically snapped my head off when I asked her a simple question.
Back to my doctor’s office, she said that the suspicious area was determined to be a cyst, BUT she recommended that I see a surgeon and have the cyst aspirated so the cells could be examined under a microscope to see if it contained any precancerous cells. I sat in her office as she made the call to the surgeon’s office to schedule an appointment for me. I guess the receptionist on the other end of the phone asked if I was nervous because my doctor looked at me and asked me if I was nervous. By this time honestly I was no longer nervous because I had crossed over to PISSED. Are you serious? This is bull! The x-rays, the manipulation as my doctor tried to find the lump, the wait for the next appointment, the wait, wait, wait. I was beyond nervous and way into…this is just so irritating.
I did go to the surgeon’s appointment many days later, and the doctor did another ultrasound and determined that it was a cyst that would probably go away in a few months. If I wanted him to aspirate it (long needle into the breast) he would do so. I elected to come back in three months for another ultrasound. And in three months…the cyst was gone. Whew!
May I say, the entire process was HELL and I vowed to never go through that rigamarole again. That was my LAST mammogram to date. I decided to find an alternative way to monitor my breasts without the x-rays and without the squish of breast tissue. I found thermography. Thermography takes a image of your breasts and determines if there is anything suspicious by heat activity. A cancerous area will give off more heat than the rest of tissue and will show up on the image as a white spot. White being the hottest, red is warm showing inflammation, and blue is what you want to see. Go here for a better explanation. HERE
My appointment was in Sarasota, FL with Rita Rimmer, Certified Clinical Thermographer at Health Imaging. Rita was wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable. She does the thermogram in a calm and quiet room with tranquil music playing softly in the background. I was told to take my shirt and bra off (Rita didn’t approve of my under-wire bra which restricts the lymph nodes.) and she aims the thermography camera/device at your breasts about 3 feet from where you sit and snaps via computer many pictures. While she is taking the pictures you can at the same time view the images on her computer screen, and she explains what is going on internally with your breast. Excellent! Much better than the ultrasound technician that snapped my head off.
(Source: From Rita Rimmer’s webpage) Thermography, although widely used in Europe and Australia, is beginning to make a comeback in the United States in the form of Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI).
DITI is more sensitive than previous thermographic technology and new digital thermal cameras are much smaller, more reliable, and significantly less expense than industrial cameras used in the 1970’s.
DITI is 100% safe, painless and requires no harmful radiation.
A Canadian Breast Cancer Screening Study demonstrated that thermography, when used in conjunction with mammography, can detect up to 95% of breast cancers.
I saw blue, yellow, green and red areas, and the red was mostly around where the wire of my bra was just pressing against. Rita explained to me this is a sign of inflammation and explained what bras would be better for me to wear. She also explained that a thermogram will indicate a cancer/hot spot 10 years before it will show up on a mammogram. Rita gave me a lot of knowledge that day, and I am forever thankful to her for that. She relieved me from so much stress about whether I was going to find a cancerous lump the next time I did a breast self-examine or had a mammogram. In fact, I have never had another mammogram again and my family doctor is fine with that. Unfortunately, my health insurance does not cover the thermography and that is okay with me. I have no problem paying for it which at this time is over $100.00 but well worth it in my opinion. I think it reveals a lot more than a mammogram and knowledge is power. There are some health insurance plans that will cover it and I check from time to time to see if my personal plan has changed and will cover thermograms.
The traditional medical community has treated thermography as they did chiropractic care 20 years ago. They are not convinced it is reliable and they still rely on mammograms as the main diagnostic tool. For people who still want to have a mammogram I would recommend having both. I personally have friends who have had mammograms that have missed the cancer for years. (It is said that it takes 10 years for cancer to develop.) A thermogram can detect cancer 10 years before a mammogram.
Lets talk about what kind of radiation you receive from a mammogram.
General questions and comments on radiation risk
In large doses, radiation can cause serious tissue damage and increase a person’s risk of later developing cancer. The low doses of radiation used for imaging tests might increase a person’s cancer risk slightly, but it’s important to put this risk into perspective.
Point here, there is no minimum level of radiation that does not cause cancer. And to focus the radiation on your delicate breast tissue every year or two years…I will pass.
In conclusion, I determined that mammograms were not for me for the following reasons:
- Risk of cancer being caused by the radiation no matter how small the dose.
- Uncomfortable pain and pressure from the test.
- Unreliable results.
- False positives or positives false.
- The coldness of the entire process and the lack of communication.
- The waiting process for results.
- Having to go in for more tests and more x-rays for accurate diagnosis.
I am pro thermograms because:
- Same day results. (Your images are sent away for a professional review, too.)
- Personal interaction with the thermographer.
- You are given images for your personal records.
- No pain, no radiation.
- A clear explanation of your breast health and how to improve.
There are a couple of places to have a thermogram in the Sarasota area and if you Google thermography in your area you will most likely find one close to you. I recommend that you talk to your OBYGN or family doctor about whether to have a thermogram. Some are against it and some will recommend having both. As I said before, my doctors accept thermography and have no problem with me skipping the mammograms. I know some health practitioners reject thermograms and in some extreme cases insist that you have a mammogram every two years or they will not have you as a patient. Okay, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

An Interview With Harvey Diamond-Fit For Life!
Harvey Diamond (he has dropped the Dr.) was a pioneer in alternative health with his book Fit For Life way back in 1985 before computers and we all had to go to the local library to look up things.I read his book and for me, it was a real eye-opener. I think mainly because it just made commonsense. I was so in love witht his book that I gave many copies out as gifts. I’m sure 90% of the gift receivers thought I was crazy.
Now here it is 2014 and I have discovered that my hero, Harvey Diamond, lives is Sarasota so I decided to give it a chance and called him to request a phone interview for this health blog. I left a cheerful message on his voice mail and hoped for the best. Imagine my surprise when I saw “Harvey Diamond” on the caller ID a few hours later. We decided on a time in a couple of days and as promised, he called me back for what I told him would be 15 or 20 minutes interview.
Before the interview I carefully scripted out my questions on paper with plenty of room to write down his replies between my questions. We started off with me saying how honored I was that he agreed to the interview and then we went right into a conversation like we were old friends. I would normally write the interviewees’ answers down but we both got off on tangents…scripted questions out the window.
I explained to him that I was always interested in staying healthy and now was diagnosed with Hashimoto Thyroiditis. (Hashimoto Thyroiditis is a autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid.) He said he just spoke to a very famous person yesterday and was giving her advice on how to deal with Hashimoto. (These are not his words exactly for I am paraphrasing but if I use italics it is a direct quote..) He told me, “You know if you have Hashimoto what things you have to stay away from. Soy and Fluoride.” I told him I did and also cut out gluten. But I didn’t want to talk about me so I moved on with the questions and Harvey (he told me to call him Harvey) is so enthusiastic and energetic in talking about health that he can go on for about 5 minutes in rapid fire speaking with statistics and sometimes funny sayings that made me burst out laughing like “I’d rather step in front of a truck than eat….”
I was interested on how his book Fit For Life became such a sensation. Harvey said the timing was right for a health book and he was a guest on all the talk shows as in Oprah, etc. “Yes, but you just don’t get on Oprah by calling her up and say can I be on your show?” I said.
As a beginner writer and someone who also likes to help indie authors promote their books, this info was important to me. Was it just word of mouth that kept Fit For Life on the New York Times’ Best Seller List for 40 consecutive weeks? So, I circled back with my questions on how he marketed his book.
“Oh, I had a friend that was on the Eight is Enough TV show, Joannie Prather, and her agent was with William Morris Agency and she said she would put my manuscript on his desk. He liked it and passed it on to Warner Books and the rest is history.”
I asked him what he was doing for employment at that time in 1985. “Nothing, I was borrowing money from friends and working on my book with heart and soul. I had a feeling it was going to be well received.” That was in 1985 and since Fit For Life he has written 8 more books his latest Fit For Life-A New Beginning. He said, “It’s my best book so far.”
He told me that his website had a lot of information and I brought it up on my laptop as we talked. I noticed that there were a lot of supplements on the site. “No!” said Harvey emphatically. They are enzymes which are very important for your digestive system. I wouldn’t eat cooked food without taking one first. I don’t believe in supplements. Did you know Americans have the most expensive urine?”
Some of the other things he pointed out:
- USA spends 3 trillion a year on health care
- We are a pill-taking society
- People are overfed and undernourished
- Still believes in water fasting for health
- A mostly raw food diet is important
- You should have a good partnership with your body for health
- He never eats sugar or believes in dieting
He claims to not be perfect (who is) and will occasionally have a slice of pizza. Aha! I thought I had him with that one. “But that has a high-glycemic index which the body converts to sugar!”
“Oh, I don’t go along with that guy (guy?) who talks about the low glycemic way of eating. I mean according to that chart a watermelon has a higher glycemic index than a bowl of ice cream. I love watermelon! A bowl of ice cream is not better for you than a piece of watermelon.” Point taken.
We talked about the naysayers he said that attacked him when his book first came out and some are now agreeing, writing or lecture on the same topic they were so against in the 80s. I told him that I was juicing and that was even a controversial topic between the juicers and the smoothies. “There will always be someone to contradict you,” he said.
“Do you really think there is a cure for cancer?” I hopefully said.
“I thing the medical community dangles the word “cure” like a carrot in front of a horse. I think the word “care” is more important.”
I said, “Why don’t more people work on the care of their health before they get cancer? I want to do something to prevent getting cancer now so I don’t have a cancer diagnosis in the future.”
“People believe that the medical profession is going to cure them when they get called into the doctor’s office with the bad news.” Harvey continued with, ” “Chemotherapy is actually mustard gas which causes cancer. It’s like trying to stop a freight train with a fly swatter.”
I had heard that Harvey had been suffering from the effects of Agent Orange that he was exposed to while serving in the Vietnam War. He is 69 years old now and can hardly move his arms and walks with a distinct limp. He told me he was one of the few survivors from Agent Orange that is still alive and can walk. Something he claims is because of his mostly raw food diet.
Well, we finished the interview in just shy of an hour. He was fascinating to talk to and I promised to send him my book, The Insomnia Cure-How I Kicked Insomnia Out of My Bed! He said, “that’s a good title.”
Thank you, Harvey!

What a Difference a Day Can Make.
What a difference a day can make. Oh so true. Just happened to my neighbor who thought she had a cold and heavy chest feeling. She went to her doctor and complained about the constant cough and was prescribed antibiotics. Doctors are trained to look for the horse and not the zebra…that’s actually taught at med school. Only look more deeply if the patient keeps on coming back. In one of my progressive doctor’s office she had a small statue of a zebra. I went to her once, then she moved to a small island off Maine. (sigh)
My neighbor’s course of antibiotic treatment didn’t help and different antibiotics were prescribed and more and more until her doctor ordered a chest X-ray, and you, the reader, have probably guessed this one already; lung cancer that already spread. Prognosis, terrible.
Last night I was on Facebook when I received a DM from my other neighbor. “Did you hear about, Mary?” (Name changed for protection.) I grabbed my cell and called my messenger. She told me the ugly details. Radiation, chemo, months to live. The family is crushed! (understatement)
A similar situation happened to a friend in Arizona. He was feeling well at Christmas and by the end of January he complained of problems swallowing. In a few more days it was disruptive enough to send him to his doctor who said he had to ween himself off blood thinners (heart related problems) before he could have an endoscope. A few days later the test showed a large cancerous tumor. A month later, my friend passed away from esophageal cancer. I didn’t even have time to bombard him with alternative treatments.
My friend and neighbor, L. said it best when she said, “What a difference a day makes.” It is so true, You are going along enjoying life and WHAM, life will never be the same.
Let’s look at the facts. Cancer rates are still growing and the treatment is pretty much the same: radiation and cancer. Really? All the money sent to the American Cancer Society for research and they haven’t found a better treatment option?

However, when I really look closely at the 2 lifestyles of the people I mentioned above, is it really that shocking that they both have/had rapidly spreading cancer? They both smoked cigarettes, ate a terrible diet, one drank to excess and both had other serious health issues before being diagnosed with CANCER. It shouldn’t be a shock. Were they asking for it? Heck no! They were just enjoying life and living it according to their terms. They never imagined that they would get a cancer diagnosis down the path of life. But what they really hurt with their reckless lifestyle are their loved ones. My neighbor has young daughters and a husband that depends on her. My Arizona friend leaves behind a wife that was hoping to enjoy retirement with him and children and grandchildren. He was a terrific man who I would always call when I was in a jam, and he would come to the rescue. I called him once from Florida to rescue my friends who broke down in their boat on an upstate NY lake and called me asking what should they do and help? I’ll call so and so….He always came through.
So, my best advice and the purpose of writing this post is, plan ahead. Start taking care of your body now while you still have good health and then maybe you will fight off colds, diseases and cancer. Do it now while you have control of your bodies. I strongly recommend to start healing yourself now and don’t wait for the CANCER diagnose before you take proactive action. TAKE IT NOW!
Take a life lesson from the people I mentioned above. If not for you, then for people who love you and depend on you. You owe it to them! Think what would happen if you were to get sick and leave this life too early? Who would really suffer? Parents, friends, and children that depend on you? When you look at it that way eating and having a lifestyle that is irresponsible is selfish! That’s right, SELFISH! Do you think so much of yourself and not of others that you can eat, drink, not exercise without consequences? GREEDY!
You owe it to your loved ones, yourself, your community and the world to be the BEST person possible and that comes with eating the greatest food for your body. It is also about setting a good example to people around you and to your children and grandchildren.
How to do this?
- Eat raw vegetable when possible everyday…good way is through juicing.
- Chose organic! (You think organic eating is expensive…wait until you pay for cancer treatments even with health insurance.)
- Skip sugar (feeds cancer cells)
- Don’t eat processed carbs
- Gluten…not good for you
- Nope on the alcohol. I don’t care want they try to tell you on TV. Alcohol is poison.
- Move it! I love 10 minutes on a rebounder . Click here to see what it is. Click Here!
- Drink lots of H20.
- Skip all the stress. Take time to sit on a beach, read a fiction book, eat by candlelight.
- Don’t eat red meat with added hormones, antibiotics, fed bad diets, slaughtered inhumanely with
adrenaline rushing though their bodies…so BAD for you. Unless you hunt it yourself skip red meat.
In conclusion, the message here is take control of your own life through healthy living and hopefully live longer and happier. Is eating healthy a guarantee that you will live longer? No. There is no guarantee in life but your chances improve greatly.
Plus:
- You look better!
- You feel better!
- You’re friends will like you more.
- You will inspire your friends and children.
- Less animals will have to die to support your diet.
- You will support organic farmers.
- Your skin will glow.
- You will just give the aura of good health to people around you.
- You will slow the aging process.
- You will look younger.
- Less colds.
- Better moods.
- Less headaches.
- That rash will go away.
- Better memory.
- Better eyesight.
- Stave off dementia.
- Wrinkle reducer.
- Your skin will be more elastic.
- What anxiety?
What a difference a day can make….It could be a good difference!!! Think about that. To your health!
Can Cottage Cheese Cure Cancer?
Can cottage cheese cure cancer? Good question.
That’s a new one one me but this has been circulated through the alternative health community since Dr. Johanna Budwig introduced this hypothesis in 1931. It was discovered that around that time that, in the absence of oxygen, cancer cells would metabolize sugar which enabled them to multiply. Dr. Budwig discovered that highly unsaturated cold-pressed linseed oil would carry oxygen into the cells to fight cancer. The Budwig Diet, known in North America as FO/CC diet, is one of the most widely-followed alternative remedy for cancer and diabetes. The cornerstone of the diet is cold-pressed linseed (flax seed) oil, rich in omega-3, blended with fat-free cottage cheese to make it more soluble. This gets the oxygen-carrying omega-3 into the cells where it is needed
Another name for linseed oil is flax seed. No, she wasn’t talking about the kind of linseed oil that your kids rub on their baseball bats. This is cold-pressed, organic flax seed oil that you buy in the health food stores. In Europe it is known as linseed oil.
The other day I was grocery shopping with my mother who needed cottage cheese. “Do you know what they call cottage cheese in Germany? she asked. My mother was born in Bavaria and is always ready to improve my German language skills. “It’s called quark.” We both laughed at the name.
After our spin through the grocery store, I went home and checked Facebook (I can’t go longer than a few hours without checking. My bad.) and there was a post on my wall called the Quark and Linseed cure for cancer. What? You got to be kidding.
So, I was amazed and highly skeptic but clicked on the video linked. In the video was a woman who had stage 4 breast cancer that had spread into her lymph nodes and using the Budwig Protocol, which was the quark (cottage cheese) and linseed oil (flax seed) whipped together and then raw flax seed ground in a coffee mill mixed in and eaten as a meal replacement, was how she cured her cancer.
I researched more on Youtube and watched several people mix the recipe up. Some people used hand-mixers or whips as it is important to incorporate the oil well into the cottage cheese and to add lots of air.
People also added flavorings and berries, etc. but the basics are to use only organic small-curd cottage cheese, cold-pressed flax seed oil, and raw flax seeds that you must only grind right before you add to the cottage cheese mixture.
I also watched a video where a doctor proclaimed the Budwig Protocol a bunch of hoo-ey and said the the casein in the cottage cheese is known to add to the cancer’s fuel. Ugh! Who to believe, right. What I do know is that cottage cheese does not agree with me personally. I tried the 17 Day Diet last summer that used a lot of cottage cheese and nothing gives me indigestion like cottage cheese. And if this is such a great cure for cancer, then why isn’t in more…mainstream?
For people who have cancer or ill health, the diet has to be followed for 7 years. I looked at a typical day of eating while on the protocol and it had champagne for lunch as the drink of choice. Champagne?
Of course it said to stay away from sugar (doesn’t champagne have sugar?) and no highly processed foods, eat a lot of raw veggies and lots of water. No surprise there.
So, is it really a cure or is it just another way to give people with serious illness false hope? As Hippocrates said:
Let food be the medicine and medicine be thy food.
Recipe for Budwig Protocol
Use 3-13 parts organic, small curd, low fat cottage cheese to 1 part flax seed oil whipped together.
1 tablespoon of freshly ground flax seeds.
Flavor with fresh herbs or honey.
Eat at least once a day as a meal replacement.

A Diet Cure For Cancer? Hallelujah Diet!
I heard about the Hallelujah Diet from my neighbor who has a relative that had cancer and was given the “prepare for death” speech from his doctor. The man went home and went on the diet and well, that was over 10 years ago, so according to him, it works? In case you have never heard of the Hallelujah Diet it is religious based and quoted by some as God’s Diet. Here is a quote from the bible: The Hallelujah Diet is based on the physical nourishment as intended from our Provider in Genesis 1:29: “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat [food].”
The Hallelujah Diet is a menu of 85% raw, uncooked, and unprocessed plant-based food, and 15% cooked, plant-based food.
The 85% Raw Portion
This portion of The Hallelujah Diet is composed exclusively of the garden foods God instructs man to eat (Genesis 1:29). The dense living nutrients found in raw foods and their juices produce abundant energy and vibrant health while satisfying our cells’ nutritional needs, controlling hunger efficiently.
- Beverages: Freshly extracted vegetable juices, BarleyMax, CarrotJuiceMax, BeetMax, and remineralized distilled water
- Dairy Alternatives: Fresh almond milk, creamy banana milk, as well as frozen banana, strawberry, or blueberry “fruit creams”
- Fruit: All fresh, as well as unsulphured organic dried fruit (limit fruit to no more than 15% of daily food intake)
- Grains: Soaked oats, raw muesli, dehydrated granola, dehydrated crackers
- Beans: Green beans, peas, sprouted garbanzos, sprouted lentils, and sprouted mung beans
- Nuts & Seeds: Raw almonds, sunflower seeds, macadamia nuts, walnuts, raw almond butter or tahini (consume sparingly)
- Oils and Fats: Extra virgin olive oil, Udo’s Oil, flaxseed oil (the oil of choice for people with cancer, except men with prostate cancer, who may be better served meeting the essential fat needs through freshly ground flaxseed), and avocados
- Seasonings: Fresh or dehydrated herbs, garlic, sweet onions, parsley, and salt-free seasonings
- Sweets: Fruit smoothies, raw fruit pies with nut/date crusts, date-nut squares, etc.
- Vegetables: All raw vegetables
- Soups: Raw soups
The 15% Cooked Portion
Cooked foods follow the raw salad at lunch or evening meals and can prove beneficial for those trying to maintain body weight.
- Beverages: Caffeine-free herb teas and cereal-based coffee alternatives, along with bottled organic juices
- Beans: Lima, black, kidney, navy, pinto, red, and white
- Dairy: Non-dairy cheese, almond milk and rice milk (use sparingly)
- Fruit: Cooked and unsweetened frozen fruits
- Grains: Whole-grain cereals, breads, muffins, pasta, brown rice, millet, etc.
- Oils: Vegan mayonnaise made from cold-pressed oils
- Seasonings: Same as the 85% portion, plus unrefined sea salt (use sparingly)
- Soups: Soups made from scratch without fat, dairy, or refined table salt
- Sweeteners: Raw, unfiltered honey, rice syrup, unsulphured molasses, stevia, carob, pure maple syrup, date sugar, agave nectar (use very sparingly)
- Vegetables: Steamed or wok-cooked fresh or frozen vegetables, baked white, yellow or sweet potatoes, squash, etc.
Food to avoid!
Watch out for these!
What most people do not realize is that almost every physical problem they experience, other than accidents, has a diet related cause.
Because our physical body is designed by God to be nourished with living (raw) foods, it is imperative that the greatest percentage of our daily food intake be composed of raw foods—and that we avoid the foods that are causing the problems in the first place.
Here are a list of foods that are excluded from The Hallelujah Diet. Although this list is far from comprehensive, using it as a guide will help you determine whether or not other foods are beneficial.
Beverages
- Alcohol
- Coffee (grain coffees like Pero and Roma are fine)
- Teas containing caffeine (caffeine-free herb teas are fine)
- Carbonated beverages and soft drinks
- All artificial and sugar containing drinks, sport drinks, and all juices containing preservatives, refined salt, sugar, and artificial sweeteners
Refined sugar suppresses the immune system and prevents its ability to protect us from germs, viruses, and bad bacteria. One 12 oz soft drink contains approximately 11 teaspoons of sugar and if consumed daily for one year, adds 15 pounds of weight.
Dairy
- All milk, cheese, ice cream, whipped toppings, and non-dairy creamers
Cow milk and cheese are some of the most dangerous foods we can place into our body. Read Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s book, The China Study for documentation (it will change your life).
Soy Milk and other Soy Products
- Most soy products should be avoided
Soy is high in estrogen. The estrogen in soy formulas has been known to cause baby girls to develop breast buds as young as two years of age, and the age of puberty, which should be past the age of 15 years, is now as early as 8, 9, and 10 years.
The growth hormones in animal flesh and dairy are also contributing to this problem. Estrogen can be a contributing factor in all female cancers, and the high protein content of soy can actually feed cancers.
Processed Fruits
- Canned and sweetened fruits
- Non-organic and sulfured dried fruits
Refined Grains
- Refined, bleached flour products, most cold breakfast cereals, and white rice
Refined grains are devoid of fiber and thus one of the leading causes of constipation. Animal-source foods are also totally devoid of fiber.
All Meats and Eggs
- Beef, pork, fish, chicken, eggs, turkey, hamburgers, hot dogs, bacon, sausage, bologna, etc.
All animal-source foods are harmful to the body and are the cause of up to 90% of all physical problems. Eliminating animal source foods can practically eliminate the fear of having a heart attack, stroke, cardiovascular problems, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, heartburn, gout, acid stomach, and the list goes on and on.
Certain Nuts and Seeds
- All roasted and/or salted seeds and nuts
Peanuts in particular are not a nut but a legume, and very difficult to digest.
Certain Oils
- All lard, margarine, shortenings, and anything containing hydrogenated oils or trans fats
Certain Seasonings
- Refined table salt and any seasonings containing it
Unlike mineral-rich unrefined salt, which is beneficial, refined table salt is devoid of such minerals, containing 97% to 99% sodium chloride. It is a leading cause of high blood pressure. Celtic or Eden Sea Salt, a natural, unrefined salt from the sea, is a good choice.
